Research Field

Molecular toxicology of drugs and molecular mechanism of pharmacology in virus infectious diseases, glycolipid metabolic diseases and neurodegenerative diseases

Research Interests

Prof. Zhang has been engaged in molecular toxicology of drugs and molecular mechanism of pharmacology in virus infectious diseases, glycolipid metabolic diseases and neurodegenerative diseases using the model animal zebrafish and cell models. She focuses on correlations of drug activity -disease-autophagy and has found a variety of important mechanisms of pathology and pharmacology; and new drug targets are developed based on the findings. Meanwhile, her group has been finding and researching new genes and their biological functions, and revealing new communication between immune system and autophagic mechanism. In drug toxicology, she mainly focuses on finding toxicity of drugs comprehensively and systematically in vivo using zebrafish.
